Tub Tim Thai - 2006.05.14 -- **

After a weekend of high flying food, we were ready for some understated hominess and frugality. But it was not to be found here. The north bay distinctly lacks cheap, good, asian food, which are the easiest fit for our aforementioned criteria. Found this joint online and it was located in a somewhat shady area of Corte Madera, if there is such a thing.

A few diners occupied the weird T shaped restaurant upon our arrival. None were present when we left. Being famished, I threw thoughts of thrift to the wind and ordered up a storm. Two soups, thai fish cakes, beef salad, curry and a stirfry. Tod Mun was greasy (or perhaps "juicy", hard to tell) and had the texture of unsubstantial rubber, with perhaps a tad more taste. Soups were passable. Dry beef strips depressed an otherwise ok salad. The curry arrived clumpy and a bit thin, and along with the mediocre stirfry did not qualify as mild/medium, per our asking.

Even in north bay, there must be better Thai food than this.

$50 for two.
